What will you need to get started?
-Keggit 5l system
-16g threaded Co2 bulbs( These can be found at any good homebrewing store or bicycle stores)
-Beverage of your choice
How do I use the system?
-Fill the keg with your brew, being mindful to leave a small amount of space up the top so the Co2 can have some space.
-If your brew is currently uncarbonated, assemble the system and ensure the regulator is screwed all the way to the off position.
-Screw in Co2 bulb and turn the regulator to the on position keeping an eye on the pressure gauge.
-When the pressure is built up to around 20-25 PSI refrigerate the keg and allow the Co2 to be absorbed by the liquid( at least 24 hours) one 16g bulb will be empty from doing this, and depending how much carbonation you desire you may need to repeat this step.
-Once your happy with the carbonation level, pull the pressure relief valve and adjust pressure down to just below 5PSI and adjust regulator accordingly.
-Now your ready to pour your brew! pull the tap fully on and pour your drink.
If pouring multiple glasses keep set to 5PSI, other wise set back to around 10-15PSI and store back into refrigeration this will maintain the carbonation level, it is important the keg stays ice cold to stop the keg pouring foamy beverages as a warm keg will result in the Co2 breaking out of soloution and the beverage being flat.
-Avoid pouring at pressure above 5 PSI as this will be too forceful resulting in foamy pours only keep at 10-15 PSI to maintain carbonation level over extended period. If your planning to drink the contents of the keg in one session keeping at 5PSI to just dispense will be sufficient as the liquid will stay carbonated.
Enjoy the process and congratulations on becoming a Keggit owner!
